The past few weeks, I’ve been using the Huntington Beach Central Library as an office. It gets me away from the screaming kids in the apartments around me and gives me a nice, quiet place to work with a great view, excellent WiFi, and downright chilly AC. Perfect.
But the nice thing about this library is that it is in the middle of Huntington Beach Central Park. This huge park (for Orange County) features a wide variety of birds and other wildlife. The walk around the park is a nice, easy 1.5 miles, and gives me a nice bit of exercise to boot.
This morning, as I walked I decided to take a slightly different path, which brought me upon this egret. He was just sitting in the reeds, keeping a calm but watchful eye on everything around him.
